Six things you need to know before you book a treatment
Whether it’s a quick boost to your complexion or a solution to a long-lasting cosmetic concern, a cosmetic treatment could be just what you’ve been looking for. However, we know that sometimes – even when you’ve seemingly researched every detail – there may be a few questions you still need answered. Thankfully, we’re here to help…
Find a clinic or practitioner near you and enjoy a risk-free booking process thanks to free in-clinic consultations and the option to pay in-clinic. Also, you can now split the cost of your treatment into four equal, interest-free instalments using Tabby.
Do I really need a consultation?
Yes. Consultations aren’t an obstacle – they’re there to help you make the most of your treatment or procedure.
Talking to your doctor or practitioner beforehand, even if it’s on the same day, gives you an opportunity to discuss your concerns and expectations. You’ll find out exactly what your treatment involves, any potential risks, and any critical aftercare steps. In some cases, your doctor might suggest an alternative that’s better suited to your needs.
Ultimately, however, it’s your chance to make sure you’re both on the same page. So, you can get the results you want.

Do I have to have a treatment after my consultation?
Nope. A consultation is just that: a consultation. If you do decide to go ahead with a treatment, sometimes your practitioner can perform it on the same day. But at the same time, you’re also free to book your treatment for the next week, the next month, or even not at all. Every consultation is obligation-free – and its entire purpose is to help you make up your mind.
Will the treatment hurt?
There’s no right or wrong answer to this question. Every treatment or procedure is different – and so is every patient. As a rule, the less invasive a treatment is, the less painful it will be. However, the good news is that procedures that are invasive tend to involve anaesthetic, making the whole experience much more comfortable.

Still nervous about any potential pain? It’s totally natural – and totally avoidable. Depending on the treatment, you can ask the practitioner about the possibility of numbing cream or local anaesthetic. Sometimes, even a few carefully timed painkillers can make all the difference – but make sure to check with your clinician that they won’t affect the treatment you’re having first.
Will anyone know I’ve had a treatment?
In short… Maybe. The results of some treatments are obviously much more subtle than others. The good news, however, is that it’s up to you to disclose what you have or haven’t done. Your medical notes are confidential. So, if you want to keep your treatment private, that’s exactly how it will stay.
Can I split the cost?
If you want to, yes. Whenever you book a treatment with selfologi, you have the option to register with Tabby and split your payments into four. Your first payment will be taken in-clinic on the day of your treatment by card. The remaining payments will be taken automatically over the next three months. This option is only available to UAE residents and terms and conditions apply.
But whether you want to pay the full amount by cash or card, or split the cost with Tabby, selfologi won’t take any money from you until you’ve finished your treatment session.
How quickly will I see the results of my treatment?
Again, there’s no one right answer. Most treatments are marathons, not sprints. The likes of filler, HydraFacials, laser peels, and other skin treatments can provide instant gratification, but others – such as laser hair removal, LED light therapy, or Botox – require repeat sessions or some patience before you see your final result.

Meanwhile, the results of a surgical procedure – such as rhinoplasty or breast augmentation – may take some time to fully appreciate due to swelling. Just remember that everyone is different. Your cosmetic journey is yours and yours alone – and so are your results.
